About me

**We have changed our name, we used to be Ponies and Pizzas**

Here it is! After procrastinating for the past year, I finally decided to take the plunge into starting a blog in order to document my fairly monotonous life (I’m really selling it to you aren’t I)

I have done a fair bit of research into what makes a good blog, and so far I’ve learnt two things. One: writing with an air of sarcasm will, apparently, make your writing more interesting. Two: use brackets in between almost every sentence in order to show the reader your inside thoughts (my inside thoughts are currently what’s for dinner and how do I plan to ride with a busted ankle and a terrible cold, if you must know). But, other than this, the main tip when it comes to blog writing is to be yourself. ‘Myself’ is an eighteen year old girl with an unhealthy obsession for fast food and a negative bank balance, so hi.

Despite never having the funds to afford my own horse, I have been lucky enough to have ridden some talented horses over the past few years. Anyone who loans a horse or rides for someone else will know it can come with both good and bad points. Good points: you don’t have to sell an organ on the black market to afford buying the horse in the first place, no vets bills and no huge commitment. Bad points: (sometimes) the owners. I’ve had my fair share of lovely and slightly more difficult owners to ride for, but I guess it takes all sorts of people to make the world go round?! I’ve ridden everything from affiliated showjumpers to cobs to evil little ponies who would be better placed in a rodeo!!

I’m currently riding a coloured eight year old gelding called Quizz with huge scope and a back end that would make even the bravest rider think ‘Shit’. We are planning to affiliate in the summer. I also have a large history of part time jobs in (pretty much) every sector of retail that there is. I’ve worked for every company, from phones to underwear to horse dealing yards to (rather cheap-looking) jewellery. However, I am currently trying to adult and am working now as an apprentice for a digital marketing team in London.  One upside of being a serial job hopper, despite the impressive CV, is the amount of people I’ve managed to meet along the way. I’ve met some friends for life during some unbearable part time jobs (including one in a soft play area where cocaine was dropped by a dad, mistaken for sherbet and inhaled by several children) and I’ve got plenty of interesting stories to share with you all at some point.

If you’ve read this far down then good for you. Feel free to give me a follow (please do) and I am always available to review/advertise products, both equestrian and non equestrian. Visit my ‘contact me’ page to get in touch, even if it’s to tell me you also have a fear of giraffes (I’m yet to find someone who shares my completely RATIONAL fear!!)
